Kestrel

OK it's not the bestest Blip there's ever been of a kestrel landing in a tree but it is representative of my day. In this tree there is a kestrel family, there is the young kestrel (that's it) and what I suppose are the parent kestrels. And today they were flying in and out of the nest and so attempts were made to catch them doing just that.

My little point and shoot doesn't like taking instructions. It generally decides to focus on what it thinks is important. The so-called motion sensor that's meant to focus on whatever is moving just doesn't. There were many curt exchanges of opinion on this matter. None of it was polite.

Still, the kestrels were fantastic. The little one kept up a running commentary on everything (tüq-tüq-tüq-tüq-tüq-TÜQ-TÜQ-TÜQ-TÜQ- tüq-tüq and so on). The parents kept coming back to the nest which prompted more excitement. Utterly enthralling. And it was, as you can see, a pretty nice day to be out working in the garden.

Yesterday's song-in-German was "It's The End Of The World As We Know It And I Feel Fine", let's see how you like today's :-
