First date

Today was super. We were taking E and her friend to the cinema as a treat for her birthday. In the morning I'd ask E if she was looking forward to her special day and she'd confessed she was nervous about bringing Daniel. Daniel is the friend she'd chosen to come with us. I'd never met him before and I must confess I've been a tad concerned about how a soon to be 8 year old can be so keen on a boy. She talks about him like he's the best thing ever "just to look at us, you can tell we're in love" she says. :-s.

I thought the prospect of my daughter being in love was the worst of my worries but it turns out E was concerned about bringing Daniel with us because he was particularly accident prone! Oh my goodness, I've never been so terrified about escorting someone else's kid about for the day.

Thankfully we had a lovely time. All were very well behaved if a little silly at the end (mostly my own children). He was well mannered and interesting. I came away thinking maybe it wasn't the end of the world if E was realising all boys don't have lurgies after all. Although nothing will convince me they don't smell ;-)

The big bonus was that we returned Daniel in one piece. Result!

Picked up L on way back, who'd not really noticed we were missing and came back to watch the grand prix we'd recorded. As a Hamilton fan, i find it so frustrating, the amount of work he does on the track for things to then go so wrong behind the scenes. Was a super race though.

Back on the healthy eating again tomorrow. I've well lost my way recently and can barely breath for the cake and popcorn consumed.
