Brixham in the Rain

We walked from Paignton to Brixham today but only the first half mile was in the dry. There were people huddled in the shelters on the promenade at Paignton hoping it would clear up but it rained all day. We just headed on in to it, close to the miserable grey sea, and enjoyed it. Not much else we could do. In Brixham the Shipshape café welcomed us and our dripping clothes and dispensed tea, teacakes and cheerfulness. There was also an outbreak of cheerfulness among the coachload of Teesside visitors shetering in there. Afterwards though we couldn't face any more punishment and went back to Torquay on the ferry. It's a bargain at £2 return, £1 for a single but the old salt in sunglasses in the kiosk said "you can't get a single but it doesn't matter if you don't come back".
