Had to go to the hospital today for a check up. Hate the place.

Was left alone in the consultation room for 20mins at one stage. Nothing much to look at except this bed. The same bed I was asked to climb onto for an examination once someone remembered I was waiting. Never very pleasant but beats the one in the maternity ward I was shown the other day. Still can't get the image out of my head. It was mainly the stirrups. And the heart rate monitors. And the catheter. And the.....

You'd think human beings would have evolved to give birth more efficiently and with less pain by now. Said this to someone the other day and they said childbirth was a form of contraception. Keeps the world's population in check. If it was too easy, we'd be even more overpopulated. Smart theory.
