Resurrection

Felt lost last night and all day today. Something was "missing". Was difficult to focus on anything but I couldn't put a finger on the button.

In a daze left the house at 5:28:35 to take Angie to the station. I hate having to do this, in the dark, on wet roads, luckily it wasn't cold enough to freeze. I can cope with the conditions under normal circumstances but Angie spends the whole 4 minute drive telling me to put my foot down. She ignores all road traffic signs on her morning dash. I suspect she can't see the signs through the iced and fogged up windscreen. She seems to run on autopilot.

Got rid of my excess adrenalin by waking the horses earlier and throwing them out so as to muck out and get over to Ottobeuren. Needed to pick up a prescription which I had photographed and sent to the chemists via the mobile yesterday while waiting for the breakdown truck to arrive.

I didn't have any intention of visiting my GP but he had called last week asking me to pop by with my insurance card as he needed it for the Quarter End  paperwork. As I walked in the receptíonist said a fax had just arrived from the hospital with the result of a swab test they had done. I'm full of bugs it seems. She insisted I wait a minute and have a chat with GP. A bit embarrasing as I was dressed up in my wet & cold weather, dog walking gear. Although far from happy, have agreed to take a couse of antibiotics for the next 10 days. Hope they don't mess me up.

Pleasing but annoying is how the swab came about. I had been complaining to my GP about a skin "rash" since my 6 week stay in hospital in Dec 2011. Ever since he kept putting it down to an allergic reaction to all the drugs and series of 10 operations during that time. This year he at long last said it was a bit strange as I had not taken any medicines, pills etc for a year. He sent me to a skin specialist in October. He took a look, muttered and didn't really know what to do but prescribe a mild cortison cream to help if it itched. It was one of the nurses during last weeks stay in hospital who immedately said on seeing it "Don't like the look of that, we need to take a swab". Begs a few questions!

Picked up prescription, dashed to butchers and then a good long walk with the dogs. Took several photos and had worked out my Blip for today. On the way home a rather too long visit to the (new) supermarket for my cheddar and, for the first time, visit the neighbouring new "drug supermarket" - fantastic.

Eventually got home just as the rain started. Fed the dogs and dashed out to feed the chickens and collect up the days work. Egg production is on the increase, I think Angie now agrees they are too well fed (fat) and that actually hinders egg laying.

To my surprise found the very first "green egg" layed by one of the "Easter Egger" hens Angie bought back in the summer. As the "Egg" is a symbol in Christianity for the resurrection, could not help but Blip it on this very special Blip day.

Nice to have Blip back. Sure it takes a bit of getting used to and some of the methods one used before are different or missing, at least for the moment. Speed is great. One feature I hope they don't bring back (only members get to see this) is the critical comments from BlipCentral on one's writing style. Mine said that I used the word "holiday" 159% more than the average Bliper! In six weeks I did manage to reduce it to 145% but luckily this "feature" has gone.

For the moment I won't be changing my blurb style. For me Blip is many things and one of them is letting it all "hang out". I do however feel deeply for all those who think they have to read it. Please, please, please don't ever think I expect anyone to read it, let alone comment. In fact on checking out the new features, I found the "new" comments section and have just seen how many comments there have been with a question I need to answer. Very sorry if anyone thinks I ignored them, that wasn't the case and will try to rectify the situation.
