The Big Concert

Mr Flum among the tenors, sopranos on his right, all assembled and waiting to begin the Lothian Hospitals' Clic Sargent Christmas Carol Concert in the Usher Hall; we altos sit at stage left with the basses to our right.
Thistle Brass returned with light-hearted arrangements, one piece accompanied by the audience jangling their keys; Anna McLuckie accompanied her songs on the clarsach, the choir of St. George's School delighted us with two songs and John Kitchen joined us on the organ.

The concert was well-received by the audience, which included Ian Rankin. It is always an enjoyable experience to sing in such a large choir for such a good cause, made the more so by our popular conductor, Neil Houston, who will be taking the choir for another year or two. I do hope I am able to continue, especially as next year would be my 20th with the hospitals choir.
Meanwhile, that's our last big singing engagement over and I am really tired.
