Police Scotland Year 2, Day 255 - Inspector Smith

Name: Inspector Smith

Day-to-day policing role: I am an Airport Police Commander. My primary role is to maintain the security and safety of the airport along with our partners. We also ensure that all staff and passengers are safe whilst working in or making their way through the airport. We are ready to respond 24/7 to any incident be it a passenger looking for directions, theft from a retail outlet or an emergency involving an aircraft en route to us. For more information about Airport Policing follow @polscotbpc on Twitter.

Favourite Christmas gift: My digital camera - I'd be lost without it.

Festive safety tip: Christmas is an exciting time at the airport as families meet up for the festive period. Please keep your luggage with you at all times when in the terminal building and use the designated drop off and pick up areas to make your journey as safe and as quick as possible. Finally, never drink to excess when flying. Being drunk or disorderly on an aircraft could cost you more than your flight.

Have a very happy and safe Christmas.
