Strasbourg

Today we took an early morning train to Strasbourg in Eastern France.

Strasbourg is a wonderful place, full of colourful buildings, stylish shops and restaurants, all of which line the narrow cobbled streets of this lovely city and all of which are elaborately decorated for Christmas.  

The Ill river runs through the city and flows into the Rhine on the border with Germany.

Strasbourg is also renowned for its amazing Christmas markets, which are said to be the best in Europe.  Its reputation is justified; they are the best we have ever seen.  

This was our first visit to Strasbourg and it certainly won't be our last.  A most enjoyable trip to a very impressive city.
