lost some of the magic

Waiting to go into the cinema this evening they had a lovely old projector on display - something I can still clearly remember from visits to the cinema - now its all changed - quite possibly for the better - but somehow its a little less magical.
Which was apt. We went to see the final instalment of the Hobbit - everything was spectacular & seamless - I for one can't peak behind the veil - but somehow we came away non plussed - with a sense that somehow we'd seen it before - proof that when the flashes and bangs, the ooh's and the ah's, the smoke & mirrors, take your choice, have finished - its a good story that carries you through. And all said and done - the Hobbit was only ever quite a small book.
