Single Hydrangea Bloom

In preparation for more indoor shots I bought a book 'Creative Close-ups' by Harold Davis and this is the result of some experimenting. I posted the whole Hydrangea Bloom here on 12th October (I had trouble getting the link!) and this is one from that bunch. I chose to capture the underside so that the veins showed up more strikingly. Underexposing it resulted in the colour - the original is brown on a green background. I put a magnifying glass between the camera lens and the subject - I have left the sides of the glass in the image. I've sharpened it a bit again to accentuate the veins of the petals.
