Hexham Abbey, Altarpiece patchwork

A trip to Hexham Abbey today with the young archaeology club. We were given a thorough guided tour. Down the Anglo-Saxon crypt, a chance to sit on St. Wilfrid's throne and a fascinating talk which delicately discussed the origins of Santa Claus and Christmas to a large group of children.
