No daylight...but stars

I know that today, as the shortest day, has been one of competition on Blipfoto where we have all been challenged to capture "A day in the life of daylight".

Alas here in Argyll there hasn't been any.  It has been uniformly grey all day with heavy rain but as the real darkness comes and we switch on the Christmas lights (which we have spent part of the day putting up) there are stars amidst the dying leaves of the vine in the conservatory.    And they are beautiful, if not as beautiful as sunlight would have been on the solstice, had we seen any.

So this is a contribution from a lover of light, if not the one that I might have made.
