Sun Up

It's the winter solstice and we're up on the hill before dawn.

It could have been a beautiful sunrise on this shortest day, but being Scotland it was more about howling gale and driving rain. But when you've made the effort to get up there you might as well take a picture.

Moncfeiffe Hill has a number of Pictish forts that provide marvelous views over both the Tay and the Earn. The locals would definitely have spotted the Romans from up here when they came to these parts around 80AD. Not that they stayed here for long.
