Busiest shopping day of the year?

I needed to make a quick dash into town while no-one was home to collect part of the boys' Christmas presents.
We couldn't have timed it better - roads were quiet and I got parked right outside the shop in the Grassmarket.
This meant I had time to take Barney for a quick walk up Arthur's Seat on the way home just as the sun was dipping below the horizon - superb view of the Pentlands and Hillend ski centre in the distance :-)
It's looking unlikely they'll have snow for Christmas.
