Watching me, watching you

Several of these neighbours of mine sitting in the branches outside my bedroom window at 7.30 on this bright sunny morning, their eye on me and on the bread and dried fruit I had put on the fire escape,  while Caroline who was sitting at the window, was watching them, wondering if, being green, they could count as one of her five-a-day.


Later: one year ago, back home in England for Christmas I wrote "Ah, where would a girl be without her Dad?"  Little did I think....
