Winter solstice

But we had very scarce amount of daylight, due to overcast. I had forgotten all about winter solstice and mentioned casually to my daughter how short the day had become, when she cheerfully announced that starting tomorrow, the days would be getting longer. I'm so looking forward to longer, brighter days, as this darkness is starting to bring me down a little. But it's nice with the snow though, as it would be even gloomier without it.
