Auschwitz

I was invited by the Holocaust Education Trust to join them on a one day trip to Auschwitz. It was a long day and very surreal, leaving Edinburgh with 200 or so school pupils on a plane bound for Krakow. We then got on several buses to the site and spent hours there until sunset. It was a spectacularly sunny day and perhaps for that reason alone it was difficult to imagine the horrors of the camps during WW2.  HET are anxious that people spread the word to others and that the memory of the Holocaust is kept alive.
