Grumpy Old Man

Sight and sound

After lunch today my daughter and I climbed the hill behind the house in an attempt to catch some of the sunshine which was rapidly disappearing.

This is the view down the Sound of Jura with the island of Shuna foreground right, behind which is Scarba, then Jura - one of the Paps visible - and a little blob of Islay in the middle of the horizon.

Beyond the two skerries on the left and out of sight at about 60 miles distance is Northern Ireland, in the form of Rathlin Island. What a lovely spot and only 10 minutes climb - but I can't remember when I last came up here!
