Alexander Cowan's well

Or, perhaps not, since he died in 1859.

This is something of an emergency blip, but with a tenuous connection to today. I took it on an outing to buy stocking fillers and to get a pdf printed so Miss L could finish her mother's Christmas present. [Our printer is out of service.] Came back with what might be the only bag of chocolate coins in Penicuik and got the file printed at the Pen-y-Coe Press where there may be a paper-making heritage museum one day. Amongs others, this will recognise the achievements of Alexander Cowan.
