LIFE!!!

man in the wilderness

this man is John the Baptist, sculpted by Rodin, and he stands at the head of the reservoir in Glenkiln.

If this photo had sound effects, you would hear a cuckoo, the first one I've heard this year.

D and I walked up over the moors to Turner's Monument. Johnny Turner died in 1841 and was buried on top of Bennan Hill in the grave he had hewn from the rock. He was a horn spoon and fork maker who travelled around the Galloway farms.

The view from the monument today was amazing..from the Lake District, to Ireland in the south, and northwards, a panorama of the Southern Upland Hills.
