Surprise: Sunny, slippery & icy Boxing Day!

oooOOOO... Marvellous weather today, seemed to be a clear sky as we woke up in the countryside. And after sun was rising at 9.45am, we soon noticed that some brave family was walking on ice already.

So we went testing too.

After hard freeze yesterday and during the night the lake had iced quite nicely. We cleaned some of the snow away and tried to see through the ice. We counted there seemed to be some 5cm ice cover, so it is hard enough to walk.

Just lovely! And so wonderful sunny 5 hours and 21 minutes today, -6c.

We were almost hypnotized by the sun and the icy lake and had a long walk along the beaches. I do not remember when this beaituful day would occur here this early in winter - this scene can be seen here normally only in march...

My daughter arranged me some snowing to one shot, so I picked it to the blip. However I captured lovely shots on our walk - and also a snow plough on our way back home...

After the deer crash by my husband in christmas eve, we have broken right side lamps in the car - and so we had to drive home today early before the dark 15.06pm. The young driver, our daughter, was honouder to drive us home. Very, extremely slippery, icy ways. I am so very proud of her, as she manages the car so perfectly safely in hard conditions. Very good!

And. Lovers of light - competition, here we come!
