Coniston Old Man

The weather forecast for Cumbria is bad for the next few days heavy rain and high winds, and this looked like it would be the best day of the 3 we are up for.  It started raining as soon as we got out the car and put our boots on and it was so windy in one gust I had to almost run to stay upright (SR sensibly chose to sit down). the summit was in cloud, but there was a bit of sunshine on and off and the rain went away in the afternoon. This is on the way down in a sheltered spot as it was a bit too blowy on the top to eat lunch. A reward of a pint of Conistion Bluebird on the way back. My last summit in my fourties :-)
