Boxing Day fungus

This little fungus, Scarlet Elf Cup or Sarcoscypha austriaca, is one I always associate with Boxing Day walks. It is found growing on rotting, moss-covered logs and twigs in winter and early spring and seems to thrive after a really cold spell. It hasn't really been cold for long yet and I've only found tiny cups so far this year.
