Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Boxing Day

It was so beautiful today (like yesterday) we had to have an afternoon walk in a gorgeous spot.  The UW Center for Urban Horticulture is a great (but a bit muddy today) place to view the ducks in Union Bay that we often row by (like we did on Christmas morning).   I did manage to catch a few birds, and will post this hawk (no clue what kind - anyone?) that was flying about with an eagle nearby as  I like this view of it, (you can see its eye!) the simplicity , the blue in the sky and the sunshine!   Glorious!    Weather’s supposed to change tonight.

We thought we might take Fiona today so the other 3 in sick bay at their house could have some peace, but she seems to have a bit of a fever too now so they all stayed in quarantine and we two felt extremely grateful to be able to enjoy nature’s wonderful winter palette.

(some of the colors on this very UNchristmasy-(that's over for another year! )  set on flickr.)

Edit. Now I think this is possibly a juvenile eagle. .??
