Festive Busland!

A large, intense area of rain is sweeping over much of southern Queensland - including the desperately dry areas away from the coast.

This has made for a wet and unusually cool, dull day in Brisbane - dark enough to needs lights on in the daytime which is remarkable. I went into the city but didn't last long in the madness that is 'SALE!' shopping. Escaping the crowds and rain by jumping on a bus, I was amazed to step into this Christmas wonderland!

It's an ordinary, everyday Brisbane City Transport public bus on route 232. The difference is that every square centimetre has been transformed to create a magical Christmas grotto. Every window is covered with children's festive art work, every rail and pole entwined with tinsel. There's a christmas tree at the front of the bus and baubles dangling everywhere. The ticket machine wears a Santa beard and even the windscreen wipers glitter with gold. Fairy lights twinkle along the handrails.

What a way to cheer up bus users!
