Singing its heart out

A NZ bellbird on flax, singing his beautiful bell like song (actually warning others to stay away perhaps). Not many flowers on the flax this year, but this bellbird was making the most of it.

The New Zealand bellbird (Anthornis melanura), also known by its Māori names korimako and makomako, is a passerine bird endemic to New Zealand. It has greenish colouration and is the only living member of the genus Anthornis.

Haven't had much time to comment lately with all the activity and it's been a fine warm Christmas, who would have guessed, but will catch up next week
