Bounty!

Any time there was a lull between the storms of the last couple of weeks I have been down walking along the shore, seeing what the sea has washed up!  Anything too big to be carried, home local custom dictates that so long as you put it above high water, you have claimed it.

Today Mike and I dragged/carried my stash of finds up to the top of the cliff.  The rope was far too heavy for us to carry home so we'll have to devise a way to getting it up to the road and put it in the car.  Been good weather for fish boxes but these days they are all plastic rather than nice wooden ones!  This means that instead of being used for firewood, they are used as storage containers for bits and pieces in Mike's workshop!

Spent the rest of the day on the internet sorting out flights and trains for going south for Dad's funeral at the beginning of January.  Unfortunately I will have to go alone as Mike has more hospital tests that day, and if we cancel them, there is no knowing when he'll get another appointment.

Still seems a bit unreal, knowing Dad really has died.
