Black, White, and White all over

It did indeed snow last night - we had a good 10"! My first job this morning (after putting on the coffee, of course,) was to put out extra helpings of bird food, and to my great delight, we got a new bird in the garden - a Reed Bunting! There were also Redwing and Fieldfare in the trees which overlook us, as well as the usual suspects who seemed most appreciative of the extra rations. Pied Wagtails have visited us fleetingly in the past, but this one stayed for at least an hour - he seemed to be enjoying the live mealworms I put out, and had no problems fending off the competing Robins, Starlings and Blackbirds.
I went for a walk up the hill to enjoy the glorious snowy views. Wellies and grippers were essential.
