Barranco do las Penitas

The mountains in the centre of the island rise to 800 metres, but rainfall is  low everywhere and the vegetation is sparse and specialist even at higher altitudes. The Barranco do las Penitas is a particularly beautiful dry valley with palms and succulents. It even had a bit of running water at the top, enjoyed by birds.
