Breathe In And Out...

Bloody deer - literally!

I came upon the evidence of an overnight wildlife drama in Stirling's King's Park early this morning. Walking the dog past the small skatepark, she refused to come away from the larger of the two concrete bowls. On investigation, I found it completely coated in marks of bloody hoofprints, droppings and hair, along with a spatter or two of bright red blood. The dog had clearly smelled the blood and poo. So here's the thing, the hoofprints, of which there are three sets in the photo, are tiny, probably from a young roe deer. I hypothesise that it accidentally stumbled in, perhaps bashed its nose and then, panicking in its efforts to climb out of the smooth sided concrete sides, spread bloody hoofprints everywhere, pooing with fear. All seems to have come good in the end.
