That boat.

It’s safe to say that whatever gripes we’ve ever had, with any transport we’ve ever taken, nothing with ever compare to the excruciatingly long journey we took from Ambon to the Banda Islands, on the festering Kelimutu ferry.


Advised to arrive at 8am for a 10am departure, we arrived at 9am - fresh and as ready as we could be for the 12 hour journey ahead. Somehow though, the boat didn’t actually leave until after 3pm. These lads provided some light relief during the wait!

Armed with a big bag of foodstuffs and a handful of yatzy dice we hunkered down for the wait.. Ekonomi tickets don’t guarantee a bed on a boat that full.
