We keep Kune Kune pigs, which are ideal for us as they eat grass for nine months of the year and don't poach the ground like more traditional - and heavier - pigs. This means that paddock maintenance is as easy as giving a couple of belly rubs twice a day...

Clarissa, seen here having her lunch of sow cubes (her winter diet) isn't much of a model, not least because she won't keep still, making focussing with my iPhone difficult. But I think she's gorgeous and, thanks to a hairy coat, thick layer of fat and plenty of fresh straw on her bed, she's pretty much immune to the frosty weather we're currently enjoying.
