The View from the Promenade

No - not that one, and no - it's not Blackpool Tower.
This is the view from Albert Promenade, Halifax, looking over Sowerby Bridge.
The 'tower' is in fact a folly.  Built as a very ornamental chimney in 1875 it was never used as such.  It is 275 ft high and has 403 steps inside leading to a viewing platform.  It is open to the public on special days.
