Against the Light

It has been a difficult couple of days since Christmas. The entire neighbourhood is in shock at the news that the lady who lived next door to us has taken her own life. This happened on Saturday although we were not aware of it until yesterday. Her remains came back to the house from the hospital only an hour ago. For those of you who are not familiar with the old ways in Ireland, it is not uncommon for the remains to be at home for a day and a night before removal to the church and thence to burial.
We didn't know what to do with ourselves today. Should we stay at home and mope about the house or should we go out somewhere. In the end we drove to Dun Laoghaire and walked the length of the pier in the cold winter sunshine. That's where I shot this blip.
In the circumstances I'm sure you will understand that commenting is not a priority tonight.
