.............tuck box...........

Last Christmas the Daughter bought me a hamper.............it contained a packet of posh crisps, three tiny jars of relish, a packet of oat cakes and a tiny jar of marmalade.

It cost about £20........and the contents were very nice..........but £20 worth?

I kept the hamper as it was too nice to ditch......but I had no idea what to use it for..............so it sat in the garage.

This Christmas I unwrapped this.......I thought she had bought another hamper.............but it's so much better than that.

She retrieved the hamper from the garage.......and over the last couple of months she has sourced some wonderful foods to fill it............for less than £20!

It contains:
a pack of Bramble House cheese wafers
a pack of Rick Stein Savoury oat biscuits....with Cheddar cheese
a pack of Rick Stein Savoury oat biscuits.....with Cornish sea salt
six jars of Mrs. Darlingtons preserves...........Orange marmalade, Tomato chutney, Blackberry & Apple jam, Sweet Chilli relish, Caramelised Onion chutney and Red Onion marmalade
a jar of Mrs. Bridges' Orange & Cranberry Christmas marmalade
a jar of Wild Boar pate.......bearing the warning " May contain buck shot"

How fantastic is that?.............so much better than the commercial package of last year.......and chosen by her with love.

I hope this might become a Goldsbrough Christmas tradition.

The S & H and I went up to see Dad today........he didn't look well.......didn't eat much at lunch time.....and didn't engage much........but as we left he looked straight at the S & H.............and gave him a wink!  Thre's still a spark of Dad in their somewhere!

Das vidanya moy padruga.
