Wallace Monument and Gargunnock Hills

Today we went for a walk in the Ochils with friends. It was Baltic, (-2.5 c), as we parked the car at Alva, with freezing fog from the Forth Road Bridge all the way there. We knew it was an inversion and it wasn't long before we were out of the cold and mist and into the warm sun. We went up Ben Ever and then Ben Cleuch before coming back to Tillicoultry. There was a thin cover of snow on the tops and glorious views to the north of the highlands. To the south was a sea of low cloud with the only things visible the 'steam' from Grangemouth, Longannet power station chimney and the large pylons taking the electricity over the Forth. We walked back to Alva as the sun set, and the blip was taken above Alva looking to the Wallace Monument that was above the freezing fog.
