Failing in the Frost

A very early blip this morning.  As the sun rose, the sky seemed a fitting backdrop for this, my last Mexican Cone Flower.  Another miracle of this year.  The head has frosted a couple of times now but I doubt it can survive much longer.  

There is, along side this failing bloom, an unopened bud which I fear will never make it. They normally flower from spring to early autumn... this will be a year to remember. 

I've had to take my contact lenses out so I hope this is in focus!
