Brodick Castle

We enjoyed a walk around the grounds of Brodick Castle today. Just off the path leading into the woods from the Rangers' Office, i noticed a couple of bee hives, but one had its roof off. When I went to investigate I found the roof lying upside down on the other side of the hive collecting rain water. There was no crown board and the frames were exposed with a few dead bees on top. Poor bees. The wind must have blown off the roof and the crown board, exposing the hive to the elements. I don't expect there will be any live bees left, but I put the roof on and hoped this was for the best.
