birthday outing

I was interested to visit this spot since missing the blipmeet here in the summer.
Today BAT took me there. It was a pleasant easy walk along the twisting coastline. We saw a shag, cormorants, a curlew, turnstones and oystercatchers and a single lapwing. We searched for, and BAT found, cowrie shells on a tiny shell-strewn beach.
We came upon, and marveled over, the sea arch, standing on it and watching the surge of water below. But the wind was scarily strong ...
There was a beautiful old wall, amazing rocks, pools , lichens, and a distant castle. Just lovely. More shots here.

Then we went to Schull, had lunch, had a leisurely wander around some shops, and bumped into lots of people we knew.
BAT's car broke down on the way home but it happened very close to a mechanic friend. She coasted into his yard and he had her running again within ten minutes. The easiest breakdown ever.

A great birthday, which began with breakfast in bed and finished with fizzy wine with my daughter.
