A Weird Welcome Back

Got back last night from a great wee break to the beautiful city Oaxaca, an hours flight south of Mexico City. You can imagine our surprise when we discovered this portable pergola/awning sitting half-collapsed on our patio!

It was too late to do anything about, so it was only today that we came back to it. No one in the building has mentioned losing one, nor has anyone come looking.

I'm reminded of 'occasional' drunken nights when seemingly random objects would find their way back back home with me or with my other less-than-sober flatmates.

From road cones all the way to entire street signs (and cement base)! Those days are long since behind me, but clearly the tradition persists, even on the other side of the world.

We are surrounded by some fairly tall buildings here, so it's plummeting could have been quite the blipworthy spectacle. We'll never know.
