Group portraits

Until a few days ago, I didn't even know that there was an outpost of the Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam. We went there to see the "Dining with Tsars" exhibition but also went to an exhibition of paintings. These were group portraits that had been commissioned by various craft guilds, the city watch and burghers during the country's golden age. They were quite remarkable, because they were so unusual and especially so when they were gathered in one place
