Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

A bad, bad day.

Late one Wednesday afternoon, some 66 million years ago there was a terrible explosion in what is now the Gulf of Mexico. As a result life on Earth was never to be the same again; three-quarters of all the plant and animal species, including all the  non-avian dinosaurs rapidly became extinct. Looking on the bright side, the mammals, free at last of dinosaur competition, began to flourish and to diversify. We humans have to thank that wayward asteroid for our very existence!

Good wishes to one and all for 2015.
