Idle

Our elderly Neighbour Harry has worked all his life, in fact until May this year, when his dramatic exit to Oban hospital ended his working life. He returned home with the sad news of terminal cancer but todate has outlived the expectation of the doc. The illness is taking hold and although he likes to do something most days he is confined to the sitting room to sit and be 'Idle' - his words. When I go in his comment starts off 'I'm in here being idle'. I have come to like the word very much. Partly because every day he says this it means he has another day but also life is busy for the rest of us and we should feel lucky to this busyness.
