Signs & Portents

Last day of the year and I was  outside (17ºF) looking for any signs predicting our new 2015... as in what we may expect and hope for the future.
The sun was still shining -- a good sign, and a black cat crossed my path-- well I had to call Uncle Buddy to join me in the bit of sun. for the 'portent' part of the blip.  
He's an obliging model. For many people black cats actually bring good luck. He's a good old thing and a companion..he was under the impression we were going for a walk or garden tour... not in that icy cold... minus 8ºC  is too cold for garden tours.
Only three more months!!
