A Peep Thru the Pinhole

Bewdley Duck Race

Every year, on 1st January, Bewdley holds its famous charity duck race.  The three images depicted here show the anticipation (of the crowds on the opposite bank, and a gaggle of geese (?) on this side of the river), the armada of duck rescue kayaks, and finally the launch of the plastic ducks themselves. This event is always well-attended and so, in order to gain a prime position for the event I chose to position myself in situ about 70 minutes before "the off".  In fact, seated on a riverside bench, with a newspaper, and with a hood pulled up to shield a chill breeze, it was quite a pleasant wait.
