Gingerbread snowflakes

In a rare burst of domesticity, I have had a go at making gingerbread. I had gleefully thought I would make bagfuls as gifts.  The first attempt was a bit of a debacle as the delicate cutters would not release the mixture, and a plea on facebook gave some useful advice, so that the second batch actually did cut!
The smell of them cooking was quite heavenly, and transported you straight to Christmas.
