Peruvian nut

Happy new year everyone.   Time to start up again.   So on a wet miserable day when I have stayed indoors with friends who came and saw the new year in, and I have resolved to start afresh to keep by Blip Journal.   Today was mainly eating and drinking  -  though a very long lie after "the bells".

This ornament was brought home by my daughter after a trip to Peru earlier this year.   I marvel at the skilled workmanship and admire the beauty of the final product.   I think it is some kind of dried gourd though there are other possibilities.   But what it is does not really matter: what matters is that it is interesting and beautiful and has made a good day even better.
