Buren, "Excentrique(s)"

Fun morning in Daniel Buren's installation in the Grand Palais! Since 2007 the Grand Palais has commissioned a work to fill the nave as part of its "Monumenta" series. I quite like Buren (see his Les deux plateaux at the Palais royal, blipped here and here) and walking under this work, seeing the colours reflected on the ground and the dome of the Grand Palais reflected in the mirrors in the centre of the installation was really neat. Thank you to ellebasi (see her blip here) who gave me good visiting tips... go early and buy your tickets online!

We had lunch at Pitzman in the Marais afterwards and then went to see the Matisse "Paires et séries" show at the Centre Pompidou. It was a great way to spend the holiday (yup, another bank holiday today)!
