Il Colosseo

A visit to Rome in October half term is to be recommended highly. The temperature is a cool 20 degrees and the crowds and queues small. It therefore took us very little time to get inside the Colloseum. The scale of this ancient building is quite breathtaking, even though parts of it have collapsed in earthquakes over the centuries and other parts removed for other building work. We then headed to the nearby forum, followed by a walk to the Pantheon.
