or hobbyists repro bush furniture from a second hand retro shop?

Found these two delightfully solid "natural bush" chairs in a country second hand shop. Hubby sanded them back and gave them a coat of stain/matt varnish and I think they look terrific.

Wonder what their history really is and who the clever person was who made them originally? They are made of heavy very hard wood and would not have been easy to work with - possibly jarrah or karri (eucalypts).
